[xstreamos-discuss] auto snapshot what used

I find znapzend very useful for snapshotting and replicating normal data (files, folders etc), but I found it's not a choice when looking for a real recusrsive replication of entire pools: the destination copy will not have same dataset properties as the source, so any underlying dataset compression/dedup/zoned/mountpoint prop will be lost: the destination pool cannot be considered a real substitute of the original, just a data copy. Any zone, clone, volume may be at risk on destination.
I'm talking with the developer to see how can we change znapzend to replicate exactly, because the big plus of managing local/destination snapshots differently is great.

Hi
You can use znapzend only for snapshot:
http://bit.ly/2dfQVhr
And you can use nautilus to check the snapshot adn recover them.

HI
znapzend is more like Nexenta autosync that copy the snap to another server or
to another disk, I know it does the snapshot but I do not need it to do more than that
Thanks
Carl

Hi,
we have packaged znapzend on XStreamOS.
Please wait some days before trying to install, as we have the pkg server offline at the moment.
Hope I can bring it up again asap.
Gabriele
