Me personally, I'm looking for a stable system to run on my laptop
(hardware), software that I _need_ to run is "sccs", "sqlplus",
"sqldeveloper" (Java 1.6 ... although they have a Java 1.7 version in
beta), "firefox", "thunderbird", "vncviewer"

nice to haves: "DbVisualiser", "Open/LibreOffice", "rdesktop",
"GhostScript", "Wine", "VirtualBox"

I'd like Inkscape to be working, as well as vlc, audacity, PiTiVi, et al.
but I can use all these tools on my Linux partition and I don't need them
for work.

Do you know if it's possible/how to install in a new BE on an existing OI,
or would I be better off getting hold of another hard disk to trial with?
